The lesbian flag ’s history is relatively young, emerging in response to the dominance of the rainbow flag within the broader LGBTQ+ scene. Initially, designers felt that the rainbow flag didn't adequately acknowledge lesbian experiences and identities. In 1999, Denise Lyon created a flag featuring
